Mr. Steven Brown

Steven Brown is in his seventh year of teaching and has taught at Hudson ISD since 2016. At Hudson, Mr. Brown directs the High School Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.  

Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Music Education from East Texas Baptist University in 2015 where he studied trumpet with Dr. Doug Lockard. He is also a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, Association of Texas Small School Bands, Kappa Kappa Psi, and the International Trumpet Guild. 

Mr. Brown is also a freelance trumpeter performing in the East Texas Area. When he is away from school, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelby, son, Josiah, and daughter, Cora. 

Mr. Stephen Sterling

Stephen Michael Sterling is in his seventh year of teaching and has been teaching at Hudson Middle School since 2019. At Hudson, Mr. Sterling conducts the Hudson Middle School Band, teaches beginner Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion and assists the Hudson High School Band.

 

In 2016, Mr. Sterling received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX where he studied tuba under the direction of Dr. Ryan Smith and Tim Dueppen. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha music fraternities. Mr. Sterling is also a member of numerous professional music organizations including Texas Music Educators Association, Association of Texas Small School Band and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
